Our Byron Box Spirit of Caring Award is given to an individual who gives exceptional service to the community in the spirit of the Care Communities mission. Established in memory of Byron Cox who gave his all to life and helped begin Care Communities. This year’s awardee is Diana Resnick, Ms. Resnik retired from Seton Healthcare Family in June, 2014. Diana was President and CEO of Seton Shoal Creek Hospital and Community Care for the Seton Healthcare Family. She was responsible for two critical access hospitals, three rural health clinics, two mobile vans, three Community Centers for the working poor and Shoal Creek Hospital, Seton’s free standing psychiatric facility in Austin, Texas. In addition, she was responsible for numerous community collaborations including insure•a•kid, an outreach program for CHIP and Medicaid enrollment, the network Disease Management department and the Cancer Care Team and the Austin Independent School Health Nursing Program.

s Pauline Lewis. This award is given to an individual that has made a lasting difference in the mission and work of Care Communities. Pauline retired from a successful career in software development and international marketing. Pauline has served on the Board of Lifeworks, Austin Children’s Services, The Care Communities and Girl Scouts of Central Texas. Pauline is a two-time cancer survivor and has served as a volunteer for The Care Communities for over 20 years. Pauline served as Interim Executive Director for Care Communities from January to June 2015. She embodies the mission of Care Communities in serving those who need it most.
